18 months have flown by!

On friday January 28th Aidan turned 18 months old!! AAHH! How did that happen??
We "celebrated" Aidan's milestone and Daddy's bday by going out to dinner with Pete and Rachel that night, and Aidan enjoyed his fries and some of Mommy's burger at Red Robin! (yum!)

Here's a look back at Aidan's month by month pics, with a new addition at the end!!!

And finally...the newest pic: we had to use Classic Eeyore instead of Classic Pooh because Pooh seems to have completely disappeared from our house and I'm extremely upset!!

Photo Diary: Snow Day 2.0!

We certainly got some snow here in Eastern PA! I love it!!!!

I decided to take Aidan out to play before naptime to tire him out. Shortly after we were joined by Wells, who had a fun snowball fight with Aidan while we waited for Maddox to get dressed and come outside too!

Helping Wells shovel

Wells found the world's largest snowball...

oh wait, this is the world's largest snowball....

hmmm...maybe it's this one?

No, it's definitely this one!!

Aidan found one too,

and even Maddox joined in the fun!

Wells and Maddox on the giant snowbank. Aidan was extremely frustrated and PO'd that he couldn't get up there with the big boys....

Wells took Aidan for a ride,

\
aaaannnd this was the point at which I decided we should come back inside.

All better!

My kid makes me laugh so hard sometimes! His newest thing is kissing boo-boos.
He'll come crying to me after he does his usual (wiping out and whacking his head on something). I ask him where the boo boo is and he'll point to it. So then I kiss it and say "mama kiss the boo boo" he then looks up at me and says "all better" and runs away.
Could that get any cuter!?!?!

I also heard him exclaim "I like it!" while eating his lunch yesterday, haha! Too funny.

He's also developed some new ways to watch TV:

Lazy Sunday

We haven't had a Sunday like this in a while. It was the perfect Lazy Sunday!

Some pics Daddy took before breakfast

It started with coffee and breakfast sitting around the table while Ry got some studying in for his exam next weekend. Then we all moved to the living room to try and catch some saturday morning cartoons, while going through the ads and the paper, which is when Ry had the idea to play some Wii. I don't think we have played a Wii game since last Christmas when we bought Toy Story Mania for the Wii.

We played tennis, golf, boxing, lawn darts, mini golf, badmitton and volleyball. We had a blast!

Aidan was content to sit off to the side playing with his toys, while cheering for Ryan ("yaaaaay Daddy!"). Mommy did not get any cheers.
Stinker.

Dinner time came and Aidan decided he wanted Mac and Cheese. I've learned recently that this stubborness about food may really be about independence. If I let him hold his sandwich and eat it, he'll gobble it up, but if I try to help, he resists.

So with the mac n cheese I gave him a spoon and a fork and let him go at it.

He rotated betwen the fork and spoon and each time notified me of the change: "I use poon"...."I use bork".

Then he devoured an entire cup of pumpkin spice pudding (oh yeah it's as good as it sounds)!

While Ry and I were getting our own dinner ready we heard him exclaim "ta-da!" and we turned around to find he had balanced the pudding cup on top of his sippy cup, and he had his arms up in the air, touchdown-style. Boy, was he proud of himself haha.

We even got a surprise visit from Jess, Jeff & Austen for a medical consult. Boy these toddlers are good at getting hurt! All in all it was a fabulous relaxing Sunday!

Camo Cups!

I became aware of the fact that it was Wells's 6th birthday! I figured it was the perfect time to try out the camo cupcake recipe I recently found since Wells and Maddox are huge camo guys!!!

I started by coloring the batter with 3 different colors and then swirling them in the cups with a knife.

No cupcake is complete without Great Aunt Edna's frosting recipe.......swirled with camo green and brown of course!

I sure hope Wells enjoys them as much as Aidan did! I promised him that if he ate all of his lunch (which he did, hallelujah!), that he could have a special treat. I followed through.....

For me?

Mom's official taste-tester

Frosting is more fun to smear around than to eat (not a frosting fan, just like his mama)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WELLS!

More Kepp-up

My kid is a picky eater.
It drives me nuts.
He will eat spaghetti and peanut butter and jelly without any problem though. But seriously, I feel like I shouldn't be letting him eat those same things over and over again. It worries me. Granted, he will eat small amounts of other things, such as 2 bites of chicken at dinner, a few bites of a hamburger, or some prime rib or pot roast. He loves BBQ ribs, and also loves baked ham. But seriously, how often do you eat those in a normal house?

One night we ordered curbside to go from Applebees, and I got the riblets, which I let him eat once we discovered he liked them (I swear I'd give him my entire dinner and I'll eat cereal any night of the week if I know he will eat it). We also got fries and that night I introduced him to ketchup on fries.
He loved it.
He spent most of the meal sucking ketchup off the fries, but he did eat most of them. I began to think that maybe ketchup was going to be a great way to get him to eat food.

And it worked for a short while. Last night I made him some chicken nuggets and gave him a load of ketchup on his plate. He did suck alot of the ketchup off the nuggets, but he was eating them, too! He used so much ketchup that before he finished the first nugget he kept asking for more "kepp-up", and I obliged. After all, he WAS eating food!!

Yeah well, 1/4 of a ketchup bottle and 2 chicken nuggets later, he was "all done" and wanted to get down. He even threw the 3rd chicken nugget on the floor. Awesome. ARGH, again with the frustration. 2 chicken nuggets does not qualify as dinner in my eyes. How do I get this kid to eat!??!?!

Monkeys and popcorn

We are definitely in the "climbing on to everything" stage. He's mastered the glider rocker......

then I caught him pulling himself up on to his table...

 and sitting on it.

We had our friends Pete and Rachel over on Saturday to watch some Football, and  I decided to make the Popcorn Cake recipe I found on the Cookies and Cups blog. It was both super easy and delicious! It was like making a rice krispies treat with popcorn, pretzels, and M&M's. SO easy!

The recipe was so big I was able to fill 3- 8" round cake pans with it!

I will definitely be making this again!
