We knew we had to get Sean & Char over to the Kemah boardwalk at some point during their visit, so we decided to hit up the Cadillac Bar for breakfast Sunday morning. We usually go to the Cadillac Bar right in Houston for a Sunday brunch that has a build your own margarita and bloody mary bar, as well as a HUGE mexican/ breakfast buffet, but we figured this was the perfect way to get them over to Kemah.
We got a table outside, drank bloody mary's and mimosas and had a nice breakfast. Halfway through breakfast we noticed Aidan's right arm was no longer under the shade of the umbrella, as the morning sun had moved. Poor kid fried his arm after about 10 minutes or less in the sun. I swear that kid looks at the sun and he burns.
He even has tan "lines" from where his temporary tattoos were on his arm from the crawfish boil the previous day!

I decided to try Juevos Rancheros and was pretty disappointed. Next time, I either get a breakfast burrito or the damn pancakes lol.
It was so unbelievably windy on the bay that day that shortly after this pic was taken Mason's hat blew backward into the fountain!
So after a quick trip to the car for the sunscreen that we forgot to put on, we headed over to the rides area.
The boys had been begging us to ride the train that they see every time that we're there, but we never have. We figured riding with with Nani & poppy was the perfect occasion! We got the boys all-day ride passes so they got to ride whatever they wanted as many times as they wanted.
Thumbs up from the hot air balloon.....
I was skeptical to let Mason ride this one that reminds me of Tower of Terror (which I personally don't like anymore), because I was afraid he was too small and might slip out. After Aidan rode it alone, Mason was begging to go on, plus he met the height requirements and had the time of his little life! Since there was nobody in line waiting and all the kids on the ride had all day wristbands so the ride operator let them go 3 or 4 times in a row!
Please note, that is neither of my kids that you hear screaming in the video. They were laughing and loving every second!
After another long hot afternoon in the sun we headed back home and just chillllled. I made some dinner, we had some cocktails and it was just a relaxing night.
We spent the following day just lounging around again, and had some more fun at the pool!
Nani had gotten the boys some really neat Jake bubble pirate swords, and they were a blast to play with. Mason, of course, busted his within the first hour of having it, so then sword fights ensued instead of bubbles, lol.
Tuesday was our final day with Sean & Char.
We spent some more time hanging out Tuesday before Aidan had soccer practice, but after practice we headed to Goode's in the city for BBQ. They had to experience awesome real Texas BBQ before heading back home to NY!
We even got lucky enough to be able to snag the picnic tables under the bistro lights!
The boys love the smoked turkey and ham from BBQ joints, and of course we have to get them a bottle of St. Arnold root beer to drink too!
Mason started chugging it and the look on his face was priceless when he got more soda than he bargained for when he tipped the bottle back!
cheers!
silly faces
cheers!
Aidan photobomb!
We had a blast and are looking forward to their next visit already, when we'll actually have a back patio large enough for all of us to sit outside comfortably together and visit, which we can't do on this teeny tiny 3' x 3' patio at our apartment! Oh and we'll have a genuine guest room again too, which will come in handy, allowing them to have their own space!
Y'all come back now, ya hear?
